Reflection for Lab Report

While working on this lab report, various things were taken into consideration such as choosing an interesting topic for the assignment, as well as the style of writing that would be used. Being that the writing assignment was a lab report, it was only appropriate having it in APA format. The actual lab was fun to complete, allowing everyone to have an ease completing their roles during the lab. Performing the lab was simple, especially when it came to obtaining all the necessary information to needed to successfully complete it. One of us performed the lab, while someone else would record the results. The rest of us made sure there were no errors and that the results of the lab would have validity to them. After the completion of the lab we divided the tasks among ourselves to make the work load lighter. My role was to write an appropriate abstract for the experiment as well as complete the introduction and conclusion. I did receive additional help from my teammates which allowed for me to fix any minor issues as well as include any additional information that were important to the lab report.

Although we did manage to successfully complete the lab, writing this lab was not as easy as it would seem. There were small challenges along the way, one of these challenges would be writing an abstract that was short enough to explain the general purpose of the lab, as well as explain the results we obtained. Overall, as a group we did a great job at completing the lab, everyone contributed to the assignment. Not only did we learn something from the lab, we learned a lot about each other, causing us to get along as group outside of class. After finally completing the lab report we went back to revise small errors that could have been made by any one of use, we also made sure everything was properly formatted and organized. This was a fun assignment to complete which allowed us all to come together and work on something as a group.

Reflection for Memo

Working on this memo was a very interesting experience, being that it was the first time we ever written a memo for someone to follow. The topic was fairly simple for our group, it was to make a paper airplane. Although the topic may have sounded simple, it took my group and I quite a while to get started. The real challenge was making the directions clear enough so that any other individual could repeat our steps and arrive at the same outcome. The format of the document was obviously memo format, single spaced. The memo included pictures so that a person could get a better visual representation of how to proceed the next step.

During this small project, we all had our roles in the group, I was the person who wrote the actual directions. Another member would make sure the memo is in correct format, as well as being understandable for another reader. The rest would make sure the plane was being folded properly and that the outcome in both the meme and actual plane were the same. Overall, as a group we did a great job at completing the memo, everyone contributed to the assignment. This was a fun assignment to complete which allowed us all to come together and work on something as a group.

Reflection for Technical Description

The technical description was a fun but challenging assignment due to the fact that I chose the topic of hydraulic braking systems, yes, I was trying to be fancy. The assignment was to create a technical description of any object using metaphors to make the reader feel as if the object is speaking to them. The description was in APA format, containing all the components that a technical description requires such as, an introduction, components, sub-parts, diagrams for visuals, conclusion, and most importantly references. The style of writing I used changed due to the audience I would be talking to, I used a more direct and formal way of writing with metaphors here and there.

Before writing the description, I took a moment to think gather all my thoughts on the subject, allowing me to provide the audience with abstract knowledge on the topic. Thus, to truly allow the audience to comprehend the scientific ideas behind time travel. After obtaining a clear mindset, I started to type out the thoughts that flowed through my head. After filling the blank document with words, I took those ideas and expanded on them. Formatting came into play after having enough ideas, starting with an intro that grabbed the attention of my audience. I considered my rhetorical situation by referring to the audience I was writing to and the format in which I was writing in. Overall, my purpose in for this essay was to inform the audience on the history of the hydraulic braking system.

Reflection for Tyles Proposal

Our last group project before ending the semester was to create an idea that helps out humanity or anyone in general. This idea could have been completely unique, or an idea that is taken but modified. For this project, a business plan and power point was required from each group. Using the extensive business knowledge I have, I worked on the business models and data to show net income and growth. The rest of my group member worked on the different aspects of the business plan such as the surveys and research. The project was very lengthy and took a lot of dedication when it came it time and commitment on the topic. Overall, we managed to finish the business plan on time as well as, managed to finish the presentation.

The power point was done by everyone in the group, we all contributed to our own parts of the slides, making sure to practice beforehand. Overall, as a group we did a great job at completing the lab, everyone contributed to the assignment. Not only did we learn something from the problem solved by our app, we learned a lot about each other, causing us to get along as group outside of class. After finally completing the proposal we went back to revise small errors that could have been made by any one of use, we also made sure everything was properly formatted and organized. This was a fun assignment to complete which allowed us all to come together and work on something as a group.
